NSBE McMaster is a student-run chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers. Founded in 2010, our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

Here’s a quick breakdown of our major initiatives and events:

The Hunt: An annual, major career growth event that includes networking with employers and alumni, interactive workshops, a company expo, and prizes.

NSBE Annual Convention: Offers a chance to travel with other NSBE members to a large international conference, with the 2026 convention in Baltimore, Maryland.

Networking events: Hosts events to help students develop and practice their networking skills, such as pre-convention networking sessions with upper-year students.

Scholarship fund: Supports a scholarship for a Black first-year student accepted into the Engineering program at McMaster.

Community partnerships: Works with sponsors to enrich its initiatives through financial and in-kind donations
